Jesus Changed Everything

The Old Testament law reminded mankind that they were not able to meet God’s expectations, not even the Ten Commandments. Mankind was sinners. It is always has been (and is) that way, part of our nature.
This is a bit problem especially when you keep in mind that God is holy. In the Old Testament, God put the utmost importance on His holiness. The idea of “holy” was primarily that of being apart. There was a huge separation between God and man made evident by His majesty, His greatness and His purity.

The Components Of A Well Designed Sermon
Posted by: | CommentsWhile great sermons and speeches can occur extemporaneously, most of the time quiet a bit of deliberate thought and study is placed into it. I spend time very regularly building free sermons online for bible lessons. The focus of this article is what does s good solid sermon or speech structure look like. Of course, there is no one set form for all people and all sermons and speeches. I will share one that I believe is basic but very solid with you.
1. The Title
The title of the speech is very vital. It is the speaker’s opportunity to prepare the audience and at times even excite them. The title can be used to build an immediate sense of anticipation. It answers the question, What is this about? An example of a title, “The High Cost of Adultery”
For a preacher, the decision is made where to announce the biblical text. It can be at any time but is usually before or after the title. For a speech outside the realm of the church, a text is not needed.
2. The Introduction
The introduction is the speakers opportunity to construct a bridge from where the mind of the audience is to where the speaker wants to take them. A quote, story, illustration or startling statement can all be effectively used to build the bridge. A simple question can be used as well. For example, What does it cost a man to commit adultery? Hmmm, that one will cause ears to perk up.
3. The Transition
Keep transition in mind throughout the speech or sermon. This makes the ride less bumpy for the listener. The transition is mostly a well crafted sentence that moves the listener from what you have just presented to what you are about to presented. For example, “The cost of adultery is high, I want to share with you five things it will cost you. First it will cost you…”
4. The Main Points
The main points are the big bones of the speech or sermon. They are the fundamental statements you want to make. They are those points that will be on everyone’s notes. Make sure the audience knows what they are. To continue with our example, “First, Adultery will cost you the trust you have built with others.” You should have at least two main points but don’t have so many the audience loses focus. There are a lot of examples of outlines. I have a site focusing on online bible study, please check it out.
5. The Sub Points
Sub-points are simple points you place under a main point. An example, “You lose trust with others. First of which is your spouse….” and so forth.
6. The Conclusion
Beyond the obvious meaning of bringing things to a close, the conclusion is the place to quickly summarize what you have shared. This restatement is helpful to insure that you pull all the threads together tightly.
7. The Call to Action
This last component is so important. It is necessary to do this in order to move the audience from just receiving cognitive information to experiencing true life change. Since they have heard what you have shared, what do you want them to do? Tell them! This is the call to action.
I hope this basic overview proves helpful to you. Print it out and keep it handy as a resource.

How To Do Web Related Bible Lessons
Posted by: | CommentsThe study of the Bible is an exciting adventure. As someone who has spent the last 25 years engaged in studying and teaching the Bible, I thought I would share a brief list of tips to help others who also are involved in Bible study. Of course there are many methods one can follow, but there are a few resources that will add to any method. I hope that the that the five following free online bible study tips will serve useful to you.
1. Choose An Online Bible
Due to the marvel of the internet, a student of the Bible can save hours in time that previously would have been spent in flipping pages searching for this text and that. There are many top notch sites that will allow a user to type in a Bible text and instantly have multiple translations of that text appear before their eyes. Try it out. Type in a Scripture reference and watch your search engine go to work. In addition to multiple translations, many online bibles have a keyword search feature as well. When you don’t know the passage you want, you can type in a word related to the topic on your mind. Presto! Any bible passages related will appear. My favorite site is Bible Gateway. You can even get the free code and add their search tool to your own site.
2. Utilize A Topical Bible Resource
A topical index is basically a compilation of keyword searches already completed. The most well known is most likely Nave’s Topical Bible. Just type it in your search engine and try it out. In a flash, you can get a ton of bible passages related to the subject you are studying.
3. Learn How to Use A Strong’s Concordance with Hebrew and Greek Lexicon
The Strong’s Concordance is a well known resource. Find an online bible that is keyed to Strong’s. It usually will be in the KJV of the Bible. The words in the text will have a small number under or above the words of the text. Click on the number and the word will appear with a definition of the original Hebrew or Greek word given. This often will shine a lot of light on understanding the meaning of the text you are studying.
4. Ask Questions of the Text
Online or not, don’t leave your interrogation of the bible text undone. One of the most productive tools I have found to use regarding online bible study is to ask questions of the text. Try it—Who, What, When, Where, Why and How will unearth a lot of goodies for you to share with others. One person’s information will give the answers to another person’s questions. Life’s greatest questions are answered in the Bible.
5. Learn from the Study of Others Who Offer Their Resources
One of the joys of my ministry is sharing my free sermon outlines online with others. Of course there are lots of good sites loaded with bible studies out there. Again, just ask your search engine and it will give you the goods.

How to Take Care of Astrology Properly
Posted by: | CommentsPlanets, Moon, Mercury When most of us think of astrology, we think about our natal sign and not much else. Do you know what some of the major influences are though, that define these Zodiac signs? First and foremost is the Sun. It is the center of all life and represents a person’s personality and spirit. It is the planetary ruler of the sign Leo.
More about understanding the horoscope.
The Moon, on the other hand, gives us our Soul. The Moon is the ruling planet of the Zodiac sign Cancer. It is very much associated with the mother and with maternal instincts. In Chinese astrology, the Moon represents Yin, while the Sun represents Yang.
Mercury rules over Gemini and Virgo. It is the planet of the mind and of communication. In other words, it is the planet of the idea and the means to communicate the idea. The planet Venus rules over Taurus and Libra. Venus is associated with characteristics and principles of harmony and beauty. It is of course, concerned with love. It is also concerned with the pleasure we derive from personal possessions.
Mars is the ruling planet for the dynamic Aries, and to some astrologers, Scorpio, although modern astrologers now determine that Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio. Mars is the planet that is concerned with the things you want, and how you go about getting those things. Jupiter is associated with pleasure and enjoyment. It is the ruler of Sagittarius and is also associated with principles of growth, religion and higher education.
Saturn is the ruling planet of Capricorn and is associated with principles such as reality and restrictions, boundaries and rules. Saturn was traditionally the ruler of Aquarius until the discovery of the planet Uranus. Neptune is the ruling planet of Pisces and is associated with deception, illusions, spirituality and psychic phenomena. The planet Pluto is the ruling planet of Scorpio and is associated with the concept of transformation.
If you’re a Pisces, you probably have a lot of friends, as you have an accepting and malleable nature that makes it easy for other people to be around you. A Pisces is more likely to go with the flow rather than swim upstream to try to change people or their environment. They can be more emotional, rather than rational and analytical. They don’t thrive in highly disciplined environments. Nine-to-five jobs are anathema to the Pisces nature. They are drawn to situations where they can use their artistic gifts and their appreciation of art and nature. They love luxury and pleasure. They can think on their feet and an enjoy new situations and change. They are happiest in the fields of music, literature or art. Not that tough for astrology.
Who’s the ideal partner for the Pisces. Not the rugged, caveman type, for sure. A relationship with a Pisces will be meeting of the mind and spirit, less so than the body. Pisces are cerebral and not intensely sexual. The need to be courted gently. They are intensely loving and loyal and have a monogamous nature. Don’t abuse this rare creature.
If you’re a Pisces, you may find yourself occasionally being walked over or taken advantage of because of your fluid nature. You may need to find ways to assert yourself that’s in harmony with your psyche. Because you tend to go with the flow and live in the moment, you might have a money-management style that can leave you short of funds at times. You may need to be stricter with yourself to ensure that doesn’t happen. Next time you’re drifting around a department store, just do a quick tally of everything before you get to the cashier. Put at least half of it back, if not more. Chances are it will still be there the next time you have money in your pocket!
This is just the beginning. The time for horoscope astrology online.
