Blessing Prayer Poem

A prayer poem offers a unique way to remember to bless others and, in doing so, to bless yourself. This site is dedicated to reviewing and offering blessing prayers so that your blessing words will reflect the love and kindness that God has for all of humanity.

Blessing poems are a form of a prayer poem that use verse, meter and even rhyme to let others know they are loved and respected. When I wrote song, Blessing Prayer, I wrote the verses in poem form. Many Christian songs are poems set to music. A blessing poem can be recited, sung or said silently.

For example, the song Blessing Prayer includes three verses with a refrain that each rhyme. The refrain is:

May the Love of God abide in you.
May the dawn of praise arise in you.
May your heart rejoice, receive a blessing choice,
May you hear God’s voice, alive in you.

Notice that the blessing words of the refrain are a spiritual blessing to the listener. This prayer poem is directed toward the good and well-being of another person. The strongest and most powerful blessing prayers are those that ask God to bless others.
