Your Daily Blessing Prayer: Psalm 33:8-12
Posted by: | CommentsPraise of God’s Power and Providence.
God’s power to protect and bless you go far beyond your imagination to understand. Listen to these words reflecting on what God does for those who love and honor Him. He has the power to do the same for you, right now, whatever your life situation may be.
Psalm 33
Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all who dwell in the world show reverence.
For he spoke, and it came to be, commanded, and it stood in place.
The LORD foils the plan of nations, frustrates the designs of peoples.
But the plan of the LORD stands forever, wise designs through all generations.
Happy the nation whose God is the LORD, the people chosen as his very own.

Gratitude and Blessings for Thanksgiving
Posted by: | CommentsMy friend, Uzi Weingarten, sent me an e-mail with his reflections on focusing on gratitude and love – the two highest forms of positive energy in the world. Sharing gratitude and love with others is what blessing others is all about. Consider this quote by Meister Eckhart: If the only prayer you said in your whole life was “thank you,” that would suffice.
Read Uzi’s reflection and then think of a blessing prayer you can offer with your words of gratitude. Do this for the next 24 hours to as many people as you encounter and then see how your energy level and personal mood show a positive increase.
“As Thanksgiving Day approaches, I am counting the blessings in my life, and among those blessings are you, the graduates of Communicating with Compassion. I feel blessed to have met you, and to have shared with you these valuable skills.
Unfolding before our eyes, day by day, are the results of rampant greed, avarice and selfishness. This is in addition to the usual stories of individual pain and all the forms of abuse that people inflict on one another.
Irish Blessing with Music
Posted by: | CommentsOne of the most beloved blessings of people comes from the rich, flowing Irish culture. A Celtic blessing – an Irish blessing – brings you hope, encouragement, peace and comfort. If you are feeling lonely, sad or depressed. If you need a friend who will listen and console you. If you have hardships and times or trouble.
Remember, God is always there reaching out to you with love and blessing. Watch this video and allow the words and music to soak in like the soft Irish rains making a lush, green valley.
God will not leave you nor forsake you in times of trouble and hardship. He will be your closest friend when life gets tough.

The Blessing by John Waller
Posted by: | CommentsOne of the most famous Bible passages about blessing involves the choices we make to accept God’s blessings or to reject them. In the Book of Deuteronomy, Moses presents the Law to the people of Israel and challenges them to accept life, not death; blessings, not a curse.
Those same choices are available to each of us every day. Do we choose life or death? Do we choose to be a blessing or a hindrance to others?
Watch this inspiring music video of The Blessing by John Waller. Post your comment about what kind of blessing you choose to be with your life.

House Blessing Prayers for November
Posted by: | CommentsAs the year winds down and enters November, we think of the harvest time and Thanksgiving. This time offers every family the time to say special house blessing prayers for their homes. Harvest blessing prayers have a beauty all their own. Not only can you pray words that echo the majesty of the season, you can create a prayer space that includes symbols of the harvest season.
Here are two ideas to help make your home a place of blessing during this special time:
Irish House Blessing
Posted by: | CommentsIf you are Irish, count your blessings! The Irish culture has a long and proud history of house blessings for many different aspects of living.
The Irish house blessing comes in many different formats, from a printed piece of paper to a personalized version. Here is the wording of a very popular Irish Blessing for homes:
May your home be filled with laughter,
May your pockets be filled with gold,
And may you have all the happiness
your Irish heart can hold!”
You can give a gift of an Irish House Blessing for house warming parties, when Irish family or friends buy or move into a new home, for birthdays, St. Patrick’s Day and so many other occasions.

Prayers for House Blessing
Posted by: | CommentsA house blessing is a traditional way to ask God to protect a home or dwelling and those who live in it. Blessing a house can be done by its owners, a friend, family member, a priest, pastor or minister.
While it is common to bless your house in a one-time ceremony when it is built or when you first move in, you can also bless a house with thoughts, word and actions on a daily basis. Why is that?
A daily house blessing reminds you that life is daily. That means that new challenges and new life happen every day. It’s like breathing. We don’t inhale and exhale just once during our lives; if we did, we would die. Every breath we take in becomes a part of us. The oxygen that enters our lungs goes throughout our entire body and gives energy to every cell. Our blood releases the carbon dioxide and other gases that our bodies no longer need. A new breath means new life.
Daily blessing a house is like a breath of fresh air for our living spaces. How to bless a house is very easy. Just say, “God bless this house. Amen.” Devote a minute every day to say a house blessing for yourself, your family and your loved ones. Then, live that blessing. It will make a positive difference in the quality of your life.
Food Blessings Prayer
Posted by: | CommentsToday, food blessings are offered throughout the world by many people of many different religions. Whether people bless food by saying a meal prayer or offering a grace prayer, these thoughts and words are meant to convey thanksgiving, protection and even prosperity.
Consider the food blessings found in the Bible. Blessing ceremonies in ancient Israel were conducted by priests who made “wave offerings.” The priests would take wheat, bread and other foods and wave it in God’s presence in the Temple as a way to say thanks.
Blessing food evolved into the home when the head of the household would bless the food with words of prayer and then distribute the blessed food to those gathered at table. The New Testament includes miracle stories of Jesus blessing a few loaves of bread and fish, multiplying the amount to feed thousands of people.
Perhaps the most powerful food blessings that are offered is the blessing of bread and wine that Jesus made at the Last Supper, to make that food become his body and blood. Nearly 2,000 years later, those words to bless food are repeated during the Eucharistic prayer of Catholic and Christian liturgies throughout the world.
At your home, you can offer a simple meal prayer, as easily as saying, “Dear God, bless this food. May it nourish us in body and mind. Amen.” The traditional Catholic grace prayer is: “Bless us O Lord and these your gifts which we are about to receive, from your bounty through Christ our Lord. Amen.”
Make food blessings a conscious habit every time you eat. Be thankful for that food, there are so many who are hungry. Take it a step further and become a blessing by donating food to those who have none.
